Much has been made in recent years about the power of Google and the importance of search engine optimization. One issue however is that most of those talking about it pay little attention to the actual business being optimized and their marketing needs.
Google, Bing, Yahoo, and any of 1000 other search engines are marketing tools. Yes they help get you found, but you have to ask yourself certain questions about their results. The most important question is: "Do they help me be found by potential clients within my business sphere of influence?"
